The 14th annual No-till on the Plains Winter Conference has evolved into the most respected “continuous No-till” conference and trade show of its type in North America. At the 2010 Winter Conference, you will have the opportunity to visit with other No-tillers from various regions. This year, about one dozen “producer speakers” -- each in a different stage of continuous No-till (CNT) with a variety of unique conditions – will offer presentations. In addition, another dozen No-tillage experts – some of the world's foremost authorities in No-tillage systems, will engage the crowd. These experts are the most knowledgeable No-till aficianoadoes, and growers will have the opportunity to ask questions, share trade secrets and interact with other attendees, participants and presenters.
Many folks question “why continuous no-till?” No-till on the Plains promotes solely continuous no-tillage because all data points to this practice as the most profitable cropping system in production agriculture. Continuous no-tillage is a system that includes the use of diverse rotations and cover crops, where soil disturbance is kept to an absolute minimum. Using this system ensures agronomic, economic and environmental benefits. For that reason, each year No-till on the Plains assembles the premier speakers from local areas as well as from around the world.
Another question that we often receive is, “what can I learn from a speaker from another region? No one has soils and conditions like here on my farm.” Yet one of the most important points we stress to attendees is to take what you hear and apply it in your own way on your own farm. You won’t get a “cookie-cutter” approach to no-till at our conference – nor should you ever want one. You must work within your management skills, your equipment and your environment.
CCA credits available from this conference - there will be a booth in the registration lobby! Click here to visit the CCA website.
